Umkhokha:The Curse producer comes to rescue Carlo Radebe

The legendary South African actor Carlo Radebe has received a pleasant note from the Duma Ndlovu Actor’s Academy.Following the incredible response to veteran actor Carlo Radebe’s request for help finding a job, executive producer Duma Ndlovu launched a manhunt to locate the star and maybe collaborate with or assist him.

This comes after Mauritz Neethling, a friend of Radebe, asked fans for help while the talented actor was having financial difficulties. After losing his job and facing eviction from his previous home, Radebe is currently living on a secluded smallholding outside of Johannesburg.

Neethling emphasized the precarious circumstances in which Radebe is forced to live off of a meagre R350 monthly government handout. This pitiful sum is in no way sufficient to help him send video audition clips, get back on casting agencies’ radar screens, or even cover his basic necessities for food and communication.Neethling made a very moving plea to his supporters, pleading with them to do anything they can to support Carlo Radebe so that he can reclaim his honor and escape the grave he is currently in.With an outpouring of support from fans and industry colleagues, the Duma Ndlovu Actor’s Academy took it upon themselves to locate Carlo Radebe. They reached out to the public, requesting any information that could help them find him.A day later, the academy joyfully announced that they had successfully found Radebe. Their Facebook post read, “We are happy to report that we found him last night. Bless your hearts. ‘Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu. I am, because we are. Motho ke motho ka batho ba bangwe.’”

Profoundly touched by the outpouring of goodwill, Radebe posted on Facebook to thank everyone. With the help of his buddy Mauritz Neethling, he expressed his gratitude to Mzansi, a term used to refer to South Africa, for the support he had gotten since the release of his statement. He said he appreciated Neethling’s commitment and hard work and pledged to return the favor indefinitely.Carlo Radebe said how excited he was to return to the set and begin filming again, certain that everything would work out with God’s help. Humbly touched by their efforts, he also thanked those who used their platforms to raise awareness of his predicament.
