“He Owed Me Money” Simphiwe Ngema On Why She Visited Thabo Bester

South African actress, Simphiwe Ngema has revealed that she once visited Thabo Bester in jail as she wanted to demand for her money which the convict was owing her.

This comes after there was a report that a female celebrity visited Thabo Bester in jail. Ngema however said she is not the woman who used to visit on regular basis, but that she only went there once as she needed answers on when she was going to get her money.

Actress Simphiwe Ngema issued a statement saying she went to the prison where Thabo Bester was jailed in 2018 after she was not paid for gigs. She went to demand her money.

“I never went on regular basis, nor was I last person to visit before he escaped. It was a difficult time in my life and he owed me money,” she said.

Ngema, however took swipe at the media saying that it is now vilifying those who are victims of Thabo Bester’s criminal activities. She said like everyone else, she is seeking answers and still wants her money.

Following her revelation that she visited Thabo Bester in jail demanding for her money, Simphiwe Ngema has now come under heavy criticism from South Africans who feel she has made her situation worse.

Some said she should have kept quiet, but now her statement is conflicting in that the prison records have no Tom Motsepe name, but that of Thabo Bester.

If she went to prison to see Thabo Bester while referring to him as Tom Motsepe, it then means that she knew all along that the criminal was using different names to scam people.

“She must be arrested. Tom Motsepe was not arrested. Why visited Thabo Bester. And in which connection? I’m not a lawyer, but is she not incriminating herself here? A social critic said.

“It’s weird though. How does a normal person go to prison to demand payment from a bandit? Simphiwe Ngema thinks she can dribble us with this statement,” some said.
