In Pictures: Ayanda Ncwane and her family unveil Sfiso’s tombstone

Friends and family of Sfiso Ncwane recently commemorated his life on his birthday as they unveiled his tombstone at the Heroes Acre Cemetery in KwaZulu-Natal.

The award-winning star died in December 2016 after being hospitalised at Life Fourways Hospital in Johannesburg.


 

AYANDA NCWANE HONOURS LATE HUSBAND WITH NEW TOMBSTONE
Sfiso Ncwane’s wife, Ayanda Ncwane, shared photos from the event on social media. She captioned the post, “To God be the Glory. Yesterday was a glorious day for our family. Thank you to everyone who came for the Unveiling Ceremony ka Bab’Ncwane.”

She added, “Well done, boys, for redesigning your Dad’s tombstone.” However, the post has since gained thousands of comments and reactions. Some followers asked why her stepdaughter Nothile was not part of Sfiso Ncwane’s tombstone unveiling.

The late gospel singer shares a daughter with Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams. Nothile recently turned 17 years old. However, a private reception was also held after the unveiling.
GIFTS HER SON SFISO NCWANE’S ICONIC MICROPHONE

Ayanda Ncwane also had the privilege of gifting her oldest son Ngeweti, Sfiso Ncwane’s microphone, which was bedazzled with black and gold jewels. Against the gesture, she took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt message to her son.

Ayanda Ncwane posted, “SfisoNcwaneUnveilingCeremony! @makncwane, as your mother and the prophet of your life, seven years later, I am led to pass the baton down to you, to release the mantle from your Dad that has been hanging.”

However, the reality TV star added, “It’s not going to be easy, but I know in my spirit that you are ready for the world. Take your tool and go serve!”

Some celebrities who attended the ceremony include Ukhozi FM presenter Lady Khoza and actor Nhlanhla Mdlalose. However, gospel stars Sipho Makhabane, Sbu Noah, Gibson Nyangiwe, Malusi Mbokazi, and Tatenda Mahachi were also in attendance.

SFISO NCWANE’S ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER

The late singer and composer was born on 21 April 1979 in Mthwalume, Port Shepstone. In 1997, Sfiso Ncwane joined a Mlazi-based band called New Edition. He also performed with One Touch before joining Bula Music.

However, Bula Music signed the award-winning gospel musician in 2001. Sfiso Ncwane’s debut album, Makadunyiswe, was a complete success. No doubt he had an illustrious career capped with several awards. However, some of the awards include:

However, his smash hit Kulungile Baba was certified platinum, and the song went on to win Record of the Year at the 19th ceremony of the South African Music Awards
