In a surprising turn of events, it has been revealed that the late artist AKA’s luxurious home in Bryanston, worth a staggering R4 million, no longer contains any of his furniture. According to reports, this came about after AKA’s landlord, Nthsimane Mekoa, decided to cancel their lease arrangement shortly after the rapper’s untimely death.Contrary to public perception, it has been disclosed by a close friend of AKA, who wishes to remain anonymous due to concerns of victimization, that the house was not actually owned by the “Company” hitmaker. Instead, he was renting the property, paying approximately R40,000 per month. The friend explained that due to the high-end cars AKA drove, many people wrongly assumed the house belonged to him.

 

 

 

The source revealed that AKA had paid his rent in advance through September 2023. However, it is alleged that Mekoa, the landlord, instructed the Forbes family (AKA’s relatives) to remove all of the rapper’s belongings from the house without prior notice, as he had secured new tenants. The family apparently complied with the landlord’s instructions and stored AKA’s possessions awayhad previously stated that AKA had been living in the house with his former girlfriend and media personality, Bonang Matheba, for several years.

Mekoa, the landlord, has denied the claims of forcefully expelling AKA or having any disputes with his family. He also refuted the statement that the musician had paid his rent in advance. Mekoa emphasized that the details of the lease agreement are private and should remain confidential between him and the deceased artist.
