Candy Moloi, renowned for her portrayal of Vho-Makhadzi on Tshivenda Muvhango, garnered significant recognition for her work in various regional productions such as Shakespeare in Mzansi, Queen’s Death, and SABC2’s Thola. Sadly, Candy passed away at the age of 67 on July 28, 2020, following a battle with cancer.

2. Sammy Moeti

Sammy Moeti, a well-known South African actor, made a memorable impact as Vho-Mushasha, the respected local Sangoma leader, in Muvhango. However, he passed away on October 12, 2015, after an extended illness.

3. Thwala Mary

Thwala Mary, a prominent South African actress, gained fame for her role in the long-running sitcom Skwizas, as well as her appearances in domestic and international films like Mapsula, Sarafina, To Soweto Taxi, Nyaka-Nyaka, and A Love. Her career in the entertainment industry began in the 1990s, and she appeared in various regional productions, including Soul Buddyz, Muvhango, and Yizo-Yizo. Thwala Mary portrayed MaKhumalo in Muvhango and valiantly battled illness until her passing on July 4, 2020, at the age of 80.

4. Vinolia Mashego

Vinolia Mashego, widely known as V-Mash, made significant contributions to South African television as both a host and an actor. In the late 1990s, she co-hosted the music show Jam Alley on SABC1. In 2010, she portrayed Meme’s mother in Muvhango, which aired on SABC2. Tragically, Vinolia passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 56 on April 3, 2020.
