Dj Zinhle’s ex-employee accused of theft allegedly made

Thobile Malatji, a former worker of DJ Zinhle, had an appearance at Hatfield Magistrates Court on May 23.

The case was tabled for mediation on June 14.

On January 12, 2023, the 24-year-old employee of DJ Zinhle’s shop was detained for theft.

She is charged with stealing goods worth R96 000.


 

Lumka Mahanjana, a spokeswoman for the NPA, stated: “She was released on bail of R5,000 on January 13, 2023.

According to a police complaint obtained by Daily Sun, the Era By DJ Zinhle store owner in Menlyn, Tshwane, discovered the employee stealing from her.

According to the complaint, the DJ believed the staff was stealing from her. The report stated that the complainant claimed to have employed the suspect at her store before growing suspicious that business wasn’t doing well financially.

The investigation also says Zinhle attempted to set a trap to capture the alleged employee.

“She then went shopping with her buddies and bought a few things. She later returned to the shop and demanded to see the day’s cash, but she was unable to do so. She offered her R200 before admitting that she had stolen it, it stated.

According to the article, “they also went to her house where they found the items from the store.”

In Tshwane, the store opened its doors in October 2022. This is the second time that DJ Zinhle has allegedly been the victim of theft by a coworker.

According to a story in City Press from last year, the DJ had filed a lawsuit against a former employee she claimed had stolen R500 000 from her company account.

Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo, a spokeswoman for the Gauteng Police, said that the suspect had been detained.
