Thabo Bester, a notorious criminal known as the “Facebook rapist,” has made headlines again after pleading guilty to killing his girlfriend, Nomfundo Tyhulu, in 2011. The incident occurred in a Cape Town bed and breakfast where Bester and Tyhulu had been staying for several months. Bester and Tyhulu had an argument about one of Bester’s past relationships before they went to bed. The next morning, Bester informed the B&B workers not to disturb Tyhulu, who he claimed was still sleeping. However, when the workers entered the room several hours later, they found Tyhulu had been stabbed to death in the chest.

 

 

 

 

The Cape High Court received Bester’s guilty plea, in which he admitted to the crime. He is already serving a 50-year sentence for robbing and raping two models, and the sentencing hearing for this case will be set for a later date.

Bester has a history of using social media to lure young women into his trap. He became known as the “Facebook rapist” after it was revealed that he used the platform to contact and deceive his victims. He has been in and out of prison since he was a young man and has become a notorious figure in South Africa’s criminal underworld.
