Unathi Nkayi Demands R1.6 million from Khaya fm

Unathi Nkayi is a popular radio and TV personality in South Africa. She is known for her incredible talent, personality,Fitness and style, and has won the hearts of many fans over the years, especially in the popular show called Idols SA. However, Unathi’s career has taken a hit recently, as she finds herself at odds with her former employer, Khaya fm.


 

 

 

Unathi is now pleading with the Johannesburg high court to force Khaya fm to pay her a whopping R1.6 million. She feels that she was unfairly dismissed and that the termination of her agreement with Khaya fm has caused her a significant amount of financial and emotional distress.

According to the papers filed in court, Unathi had a valid agreement with Khaya fm that was supposed to run from February 2020 to February 2023. Under the terms of the agreement. However, Unathi claims that the agreement was unfairly terminated after she and Sizwe Dlomo, another radio personality had disagreement.

Unathi insists that she did not breach the provisions of the agreement and that she did not contravene any of the rules set out in the contract. She claims that the termination of the agreement has caused her a significant amount of financial loss, as she also had deal with big brands such as KFC and Gq magazine that were canceled as a result of the termination. Unathi claims that she suffered damages of R1.3 million as a result of the contract termination at Khaya fm.

In addition to the damages, Unathi is also seeking an additional R100 000 for the removal of her statement from the Khaya fm website. She feels that this has damaged her reputation and caused her further financial loss. Unathi is also seeking an additional R200 000 for reputational damage and mental distress caused by the termination of the agreement.

The case is now before the Johannesburg high court, and it remains to be seen what the outcome will be. Unathi is determined to fight for what she feels is right, and she is hoping that the court will see things her way. It is clear that this case has caused a significant amount of stress and tension for both Unathi and Khaya fm, and it is hoped that a resolution can be found that is satisfactory for all parties involved.
