Mamkhize built 20 houses šŸ” for the affected victims of floods in KZN

The multimillionaire defends her work
Astute entrepreneur and reality TV star Shauwn Mkhize finally broke her silence after receiving major backlash over her good deed in KwaZulu-Natal.

This follows after she took to her Instagram account to announce that in collaboration with Zikhulise Group and Royal AM handed over three houses to families that were severely affected by the floods in April.

ā€œToday was a great day! I spent the morning together with eThekwini Municipality in Wyebank to hand over three houses that we, as Zikhulise Group and ROYALAM donated to families that were severely affected by the floods in April,ā€ she said.

Instead of singing her praises for lending a helping hand to help the affected families, MaMkhize got dragged on social media for the quality of the houses, but she has come out guns blazing to defend her work.

This follows after pictures of one of the houses circulated on social media. The pictures show the bathroom and bedroom built using bricks, but MaMkhize has come out to set the record straight that the house was not built by her.

The good samaritan said she constructed her house in five days with alternative technology.

ā€œIā€™m very disappointed, I woke up this morning and my team is informing me that I built a house with bricks. Number one I didinā€™t build the house with bricks. The house that I have done was done out of alternative technologyā€ she says.

MamKhize went on to thank the good Samaritan who built the house and said they deserve to be appreciate instead of dragging their work.

ā€œThank you to the person who built that house with bricks. I am thankful that you sat down and wanted to do something because the people did not have a shelter and I am sure they are content and excited about their house,ā€

She called on trolls who are dragging their work to also do something instead of talking, ā€œStand up. Do something. Everybody knew that there were floods in KZN. But what are you doing? Instead of encouraging people that want to help, you are discouraging [them].

She also slammed journalists who went with the story that the house built using bricks was constructed her team was her saying she wonā€™t keep quiet now.

ā€œIā€™ve seen the latest outrage on Twitter and want to address this very fast. For the longest period of my life, Iā€™ve let the media perception become a reality and now, I will no longer be doing that! I was not made by social media and surely I will not be broken by it.

The headline read ā€œMamkhize does not respect the poor.ā€ The least you can do as journalists is to be factual and investigate before writing a story based on Twitter. Yet again I was not afforded an opportunity to respond
