This is the autobiography of Neo Matsunyane, once the spouse of Connie Ferguson.
Connie Ferguson was married to Shona Ferguson for close to twenty years before she passed away in 2021. Their marriage was the subject of much speculation because they were both prominent figures in South Africa’s film and television industries. It’s easy to forget that Connie wasn’t Shona’s first spouse now that fans are so accustomed to seeing them as a couple. They were married for a while, but eventually Connie Ferguson and Neo Matsunyane called it quits.
As an accomplished actor, TV host, voice actor, and director, Neo Matsunyane has worked on a wide range of projects. His filmography is considerable, with appearances in Red Scorpion (1988) and 7de Laan (2000), among many others. Despite his most prominent role in the public eye as Shona Ferguson’s ex-husband, Neo has accomplished a great deal professionally and personally.
The seasoned performer was born on January 17, 1967, in Johannesburg, although little is known about his childhood. His parents’ identities remain secret, but his impressive school performance suggests they placed a high importance on learning at home. In 1983, Neo completed high school at Kebalepile High School in Mafikeng and received his diploma. His professional choice made, he enrolled in and completed his studies at The School of Broadcasting in 1991. The SABC and Bateleur sponsored Neo’s filmmaking education between 1994 and 1995. His then-mentor, Mr. John Rogers, helped him get more experience in the theater field and build a stronger resume.
To strengthen his preparedness for the entertainment sector, Neo took a script analysis course at Pretoria Technikon and a course taught by Dov Simens at the Hollywood Film Institute.
He dove headfirst into Hollywood after finishing his degree, landing roles in a wide variety of productions.
