CONNIE CHIUME AT SIYABONGA ZUBANE’S MEMORIAL SERVICE

Connie Chiume, who plays MamSonto in Gomora, said at the funeral service for Siyabonga Zubane that she had attempted suicide in her youth. Zubane, 23, who portrayed Sdumo in Gomora, is believed to have taken his own life last week, according to reports. After Chiume’s kid died while she was feeding her, she attempted suicide.

Afterwards, the veteran said, she had suicidal thoughts she didn’t tell anyone. At the memorial, she revealed to her co-stars that a demon had seized control of her body and was attempting to persuade her to commit suicide. She was able to stop the demon, though, by pleading for help..

A young child with the talent and imagination of Siya is “hard to talk about.”

A child whose prospects for the future were bright. His departure is a big loss for us.” It’s terrible for his parents because I was so close to taking my own life.

She mentioned that Siya was one of many young individuals she deals with and sees develop over time. Since she did not attend an acting school, she values the lessons she receives from these young actors. “I’m thinking to whom do we transmit the torch when our kids die like this?” “There is no need to pretend that everything is going to be good for us. We have an issue with our youth, and it extends beyond the arts and creative fields. In general, it has a negative impact on young people.”

“There’s a demon from hell hunting our young people,” the minister said.

‘Gomora’s’: ‘I almost killed myself’ In memory of Siya Zubane, Connie Chiume paid her respects.

Lulu Hela, the film’s producer, had this to say about Gomora:

“To know Siyabonga was to fall in love with her. It seems strange to talk about him as if he had already died.” When I was auditioning for the role of Gomora in 2019, I ran into him.” Sdumo’s role was originally written for three episodes, but it was extended due of his intensity.” “We miss him so much that he is no longer with us. Siya had a natural talent for performing and was devoted to it.
