Why else would a man choose to pay lobola for a woman that he courted in your presence while he hasn’t paid 10% for you? Dulas is such a man. He’s an aspiring musician who has used Mnakwethu to promote his career.

Zinhle Mhlongo has been with Dulas for as long as we can remember him being cast to the show. MaDlamini, Dulas’ ex-wife who upped and left after realising he’s obsessed with women, knew about Zinhle Mhlongo. So naturally, viewers assumed that if there’ll be anyone to get lobola-ed, MaMhlongo would be the one. Yes? No.

 

 

Instead of honouring his promise to MaMhlongo, Dulas did one better and honoured his latest girlfriend’s family; Zinhle Shozi.

There’s no way Dulas forgot about MaMhlongo. He just chose to overlook her and prioritize MaShozi. If he had any decency, he would have at least paid equal portions to both families, not just discard MaMhlongo as if she were never there.

Mamhlongo knows she’s in a toxic relationship with Dulas. Dulas knows that he can’t “tame” her and that’s why he’s not rushing to lobola her. Mamhlongo should respect herself and walk away with her dignity intact.
