In a surprising turn of events, the Department of Home Affairs has gifted notorious convict Thabo Bester a South African identity document (ID) card, putting an end to the ongoing controversy surrounding his multiple identities. Sunday World has learned that a home affairs official visited the Kgosi Mampuru correctional centre in the country’s capital last week to personally hand over the ID card to Bester, who was apprehended in Tanzania alongside his partner, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana. Speculations have arisen that the purpose behind this gesture was to facilitate his proper identification and sentencing, as Bester did not possess any official documents prior to this.

This episode is heartbreaking, especially when your in-laws deny you being their makoti. The lady that recently went to Mamazala went to the show because she needs help as their in laws are denying her as their daughter-in-law. Her husband had paid lobola, but not fully when he died. Her husband did not complete the lobola and her mother said that, she is not makoti to her husband’s family since they have not completed lobola.

Apparently, her in-laws are denying her as their makoti because of this. As black people lobola is the marriage and without it unfortunately there’s no marriage in our culture. It’s sad and painful that the lady was denied in her in-laws as her husband died without completing the lobola.
