This week’s #GogoSkhotheni episode had everyone talking on social media when Gogo Skhotheni, better known as Tumi, revealed her identity. It’s been revealed that Tumi, the South African sangoma and healer, would like a second husband.
South African businesswoman and property developer Gogo Skhotheni rose to renown when she decided to accept her calling as a sangoma. Her #Dlozi (Ancestor) has also been heard in the trailer warning her spouse Monde that she must take a second husband. Her husband was overheard asking her if she wanted a second spouse because of him or because she was descended from a second husband.
In the past, it hasn’t been easy, and it hasn’t been done in the same way since then. We’re taught from an early age that only men are permitted to have more than one wife at a time. If her spouse accepts her ancestors’ order, this would be the first time on South Africa that a woman has taken more than one husband.
While she was still pregnant, Gogo Skhotheni announced that her relationship with someone else is currently on the rocks. She goes so far as to ask her husband whether he notices that she’s preoccupied with someone on the other side. When she marries Tau and Zola Radebe, she’ll have two husbands like Karabo Moroka in Generations. As part of her induction, she was instructed to employ the Muthi that she was taught as a trainee to bring two men together.
The career of former AmaZulu star Ricardo Mendes might have been a short one.
But the 30 year old has not lost the lesson of being in the limelight. He has now ventured into music and he is set to send revellers onto the dance floor.
The once talented footballer is due to release his debut six-track EP I Am Ricardo Mendes, next month.
