Rapper and podcaster L-Tido has slammed people who have been sharing sensitive videos of injured musician Lehlogonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke at the scene of the accident that allegedly claimed his nine-year-old daughter’s life.
SHEBESHXT IN HORRIFIC CAR ACCIDENT
The hip-hop artist — real name Thato Lloyd Madonsela — took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish Shebeshxt a speedy recovery after a car crash on the R37 road next to Smelters Mine in Limpopo on Saturday night.
On various social media platforms, videos of a body of a child (believed to be Shebeshxt’s daughter) have gone viral. In one clip, the body can be seen lying covered next to the artist’s damaged Volkswagen Polo.
Another video shows the Limpopo-born musician lying on the ground while paramedics treat his injuries near a stretcher. In the video, the Dilo Tse Massive rapper’s head and right foot are bandaged as he moans in agony and pleads for water.
L-TIDO IS AGAINST SHARING VIDEOS OF SHEBESHXT’S ACCIDENT SCENE
Commenting on the videos, L-Tido said: “Speedy recovery to shebeshxt 🙏🏽 why people posting videos of him injured on floor? Have some integrity!”
L-Tido is not the only one who has called out the distribution of the videos. Another X user commented: “That Shebeshxt video is heartbreaking 💔 why do people take videos of such and post them on social media?”
POLICE SHARE INFORMATION ON THE ACCIDENT
Sunday World that Shebeshxt was with three other passengers in his Volkswagen Polo when it collided with a truck and overturned.
The musician was on his way to perform at an ANC Siyanqoba Rally celebration concert in Lebowakgomo. The event was scheduled for Sunday, 9 June.
According to ZiMoja, the little girl’s passing was confirmed by Tidimalo Chuene — who is the spokesperson for the transport department in Limpopo.
“A 9-year-old female passenger from the Polo passed away while the driver and another passenger sustained serious injuries. The cause of the incident is still under investigation,” Chuene said.
CAR CRASH IN JANUARY
This was not the first car accident Shebeshxt has been involved in this year. In January, the musician was involved in a car crash that resulted in his GTI being written off.
During a Facebook Live session, Shebeshxt explained what transpired. He said while he was in traffic, a fan overtook other cars to try and take a selfie with him.
“He just overtook other cars and stopped right in front of my car. I crashed into his car. What was I supposed to do — fly over his car? Now I am the one that is at fault,” he said in a live video on his Facebook page.
