Elton, who? Springboks WAGS support Iva Ristic’s new romance

Springbok WAGS have offered their support to Iva Ristic, the ex-partner of player Elton Jantjies, who has since moved on from her failed marriage.

Over the weekend, the brunette bombshell went Instagram official with the new man in her life. This comes almost two years after Elton’s alleged affair with team dietician Zeenat Simjee made headlines.

Months after confessing to infidelity, the rugby player has been spotted with several women, including having a relationship and a messy split with TV personality Ashleigh Ogle.

Elton and Iva wed in 2019, just months before the Rugby World Cup in Japan. They have three children together.

The post was liked by hundreds of followers, including Rachel Kolisi, who is the wife of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi. Siya and Elton Jantjies played alongside each other for the national team, particularly in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Layla Kolbe, wife of Cheslin Kolbe, also liked the post.

Juan-Ri Mostert, the wife of Franco Mostert, commented: “Happy for you, beautiful.”

Angelique Gerber – the ex-wife of former Springbok Jacques Potgieter – also shared her well wishes in the comment section.

MUTUAL RESPECT
Like many Springbok WAGS, Iva Ristic’s relationship with her rugby player has made headlines over the years.

Speaking to The South African in 2022, Iva claimed that Elton Jantjies had confessed to her about having an affair with dietician Zeenat Simjee, who has denied the allegations.

She also mentioned how she had approached SA Rugby and now coach Rassie Erasmus to take action against Zeenat.

She added: “I don’t know why I still have to fight over this. It’s so cruel and inconsiderate to any Springboks wife. It must not even be a consideration….she must go! It’s not as if there aren’t any other dieticians in South Africa”.

Iva also commented on SARU’s 2023 ruling that workplace romances were permitted, provided they were “fully disclosed to management and relevant stakeholders.”

She said, “I am not surprised at all about the new policy, which is surely convenient for a few other members, and it’s obviously the only way to justify all the dirt that will sooner or later come out.”

She added: “I just hope all my friends and Springbok wives are respected as they should be.”

WILL ELTON JANTJIES EVER PLAY AGAIN?
Meanwhile, Elton Jantjies has insisted that he will return to playing professionally “soon” amid a four-year doping ban.

The ban was imposed after Elton tested positive for a banned substance – clenbuterol – in August 2023.

In an Instagram post last month, the 33-year-old said: “A lot of people have a lot of questions in terms of my rugby career, but just know that I will be back sooner than what you guys think.”

According to Planet Rugby, South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) chief executive Khalid Galant dismissed Elton’s claims that this would be a possibility during his ban.

He said: “Whatever is spread on social media will stay there. The matter has been settled.”
