Popular South African actor, Sello Maake kaNcube has seemingly done a U-Turn on reports he has filed for divorce from his younger wife, Pearl Mbewe.
Instead, the veteran actor, who has six children with six baby mamas, has heaped praise on his spouse in several social media posts.
Earlier this month, Sello made headlines after he was awarded an honorary PhD degree from a bogus college, Trinity International Bible University.
Last month, Sunday World reported that Sello Maake kaNcube had filed to divorce his wife and Pearl Mbewe, who have a 20-year age difference.
According to the publication, Sello had separated from his second wife after she voiced her disapproval of his alleged flirty relationships with women, including an ex.
While Pearl refused to comment, Sello reportedly confirmed he had begun the divorce proceedings.
However, the TV star has seemingly changed his mind, if his Facebook posts are anything to go by.
In recent days, the actor has shared plenty of loved-up pictures with Pearl, whom he’s fondly referred to as his “life’s co-pilot.”
In a post over the weekend, Sello shared a look at the couple enjoying a road trip.
Posting pics of the beaming couple, he hinted at his supposed change of heart in the caption:
Sello posted: “Grace and glory combined shall always prevail! We are not taking our trials and tribulations for granted. Pity ours played out on the media platforms, but there must have been a reason unknown to us. We receive the need to be the testimonial. Of so much more!
Don’t allow your non-public issues to consume you, be it work, business deals, and everything else. Stand up as oneself and fight!
We shall take each day as it comes. Pearl Mbewe Maake Kancube, you are still the one.
Sello Maake kaNcube was previously to Palesa Mboweni for just eight short months in 2015.
Sello Maake kaNcube has taken on many roles in his life, but one he is not proud of is his history of abusing women in relationships.
Speaking candidly about his past in an interview on Kaya FM’s breakfast show, the soapie star revealed a side of him, not many fans knew.
When asked if he had ever hit a woman, he responded: “Yes, I did.”
Sello – who played the iconic character Archie Moroka in Generations – also opened up about how he rehabilitated his behaviour as an abuser back in the 1980s.
He continued: “For me, it took introspection. When I saw I had my father’s temperament…I practised a timeout.”
He added: “I realized what was one of the drivers [to the abuse], which was insecurity and jealousy.”
For anyone who is experiencing similar struggles, Sello Maake KaNcube advises: “Deal with yourself first. It’s not what the other person does. It’s how you react to it.
And while he admits to relapsing in 2000, Sello added: “For as long as I live, it won’t happen again.”
