Just months after confessing to selling his luxury Range Rover over financial constraints, Lasizwe Dumbuza is showing off a more “affordable” electric car purchase.
The YouTuber and reality TV star shared the happy news in an Instagram post.
Last month, the young star made the confession after an image of his car on sales page Auto Trader went viral.
LASIZWE SHOWS OFF NEW ELECTRIC CAR
On Saturday, 13 April, Lasizwe posted a clip of his new car reveal – a black and white electric Volvo EX30.
Accompanying him to the dealership was his brother Lungile Mcunu, who was just as excited as him.
The 25-year-old giggled with excitement as he hopped in the driver’s seat and was handed the keys to his car.
“What should I play?” he asked his brother. “Nicki Minaj,” his older sibling, said of Lasizwe’s obsession with the US rapper.
He later showed off a clip of his car parked in his garage.
In the comments section, Lungile jokingly posted: “I’m so proud of you, Ntwana wam! I hope one day, nami, you will surprise me with a car.”
Other followers of the reality TV star congratulated him on his well-deserved purchase.
‘MOST AFFORDABLE ELECTRIC CAR’
According to TimesLive, the 2024 Volvo EX30 is the brand’s “most affordable electric car,” with a starting price of R775 000.
The publication claimed that the sporty new ride can whisk from 0 to 100km in just 3,6 seconds, making it the fastest Volvo yet.
‘NORMALISE SELLING YOUR CAR’
In a sentimental Instagram post last month, Lasizwe confirmed that he had been forced to sell his 2021 black Range Rover.
He posted alongside pics of the luxury ride: “Goodbye, Sthandwa Sam’! You have been such an absolute pleasure to drive in, cry in, celebrate in, and feel safe in! Thank you for the beautiful memories, and thank you for reminding me that I can and I am able”.
He continued: “I hope your new owner will take good care of you like how I did! (I know it sounds like you are human. It’s because you took good care of me) Thank you, I love you”.
Touching his followers with his honesty and transparency, he added: “Also, this post is to normalise that it’s okay to sell your car.
“There’s nothing wrong with selling your car. Life always has a plan.”
According to Auto Trader, Lasizwe’s old car has been sold.
