Celeb godmother? MaMkhize spends her birthday with orphans

While she could’ve celebrated her birthday at a star-studded party or with another luxury gift to herself, Shaun Mkhize, fondly known as MaMkhize, spent it with young orphaned children instead.

The reality TV star and businesswoman turned 48 years old on Saturday, 6 April.

The Royal AM CEO is typically known for her extravagant displays of wealth.

MAMKHIZE CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY WITH ORPHANS
After sharing images from a glamorous birthday shoot, MaMkhize took her birthday celebrations to the St Philomena’s Children’s Home in Sydenham, Durban.

There, she partied with young orphaned girls while dancing, eating cake, and giving out plenty of hugs.

She captioned the sweet video: “I celebrated my birthday in the most meaningful way – surrounded by the beautiful girls from St Philomena’s Children’s Home. It was truly a party; we sang, we danced, we laughed, and we had so much fun.

Reflecting on the experience with disadvantaged children, she continued: “My heart overflows with gratitude, recognizing that even the tiniest acts of kindness carry immense power to impact someone’s life. When you have walked a similar path, you know the importance of giving back and supporting those in need.

“Your radiant smiles and contagious joy made my day truly extraordinary. Thank you, girls”.

CHARITY IS CLOSE TO HER HEART
While MaMkhize may have a designer wardrobe and an enviable collection of luxury cars, she is also known for her generous charitable endeavors.

They include building houses for disadvantaged communities and providing food and basic necessities to people in need.

Last year, the businesswoman and her soccer team gave back to the victims of flooding in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal. This, after dozens of families were displaced after heavy rainfall and a “mini tornado” wreaked havoc on the community.

MaMkhize shared in an Instagram post: “When the boys @royalam_fc got back to the ranch, we had one mission. To assist those who were badly affected by the tornado in Inanda.”

In the clip, the soccer players – including MaMkhize’s son Andile Mpisane and his wife Tamia – were seen handing out food hampers and blankets. The team also generously donated dozens of beds and couches to those with nowhere to sleep.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen MaMkhize dig deep into her pocket.

According to Sunday World, the wealthy star built several more homes for victims displaced by the KZN floods in 2022.
