Is it a real wedding or a music video? This is the question on social media following a video of award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest getting married.
VIDEO OF CASSPER NYOVEST GETTING MARRIED
A short clip of the traditional nuptials is doing the rounds on X. The video shows Cassper, real name Refiloe Phoolo, hand in hand with his bride as family and friends sing, ululate and congratulate the rapper.
DID CASSPER NYOVEST MARRY PULANE?
Last month, social media was inundated with rumours of Cassper‘s impending marriage to his childhood sweetheart Pulane Mojaki. The rumours were sparked by gossip blog MaphephaNdaba’s report, claiming that the Baby Girl hitmaker would tie the knot on 16 March.
“Refiloe and Pulane invite you to their traditional wedding on March 16 2024 Twelve o’clock in the afternoon,” read the invitation card shared by MaphephaNdaba.
While fans were still reeling from the news, there was an announcement that the wedding day had been rescheduled to 6 April. In addition, it was alleged that the couple is expecting a baby – which would be Cassoer’s second child as he has a son with his ex-partner, Thobela Majozi.
“The Cassper and Pulane wedding has been postponed to the 6th of April because they are still renovating Pulane’s mom’s house. Please hide my identity. She’s a very chilled Maftown girl who is also very educated. Ohhh plus she’s hot! Hot body! No BBL,” a source told MaphephaNdaba. “Nyovest or rather Mufasa and Pulane are also expecting a little bambino [baby].”
RAPPER’S RESPONSE TO WEDDING RUMOURS
However, Cassper poured cold water on the rumours. In an Instagram post, the musician sarcastically ululated and said he hopes those who started the rumours have set a date and picked a venue for his wedding since they are “marrying him off”.
“hilililili!!!! Akere lea nyadisa ebile you’re inviting me to my own wedding??? Leng tlhopela date le venue ??? Le hectic!!!” the hip hop artist said.
Cassper again addressed the wedding rumours, this time on X, as he told his fans that he found out about it on social media.
“Monna (man) you’re just like me. I also found out online. They chose the date and venue for me and invited me to my own wedding. Let me know if you find anything. At least bang tlhopetse CHIPPI! So ke happy ka seo (at least the girl they chose is pretty, so I’m happy about that)!”
