DJ Sbu denies claims he’s a ‘sellout’ for returning to radio

TV personality and radio personality, DJ Sbu opens up about going back to mainstream radio nearly a decade later.


 

DJ SBU: ‘I’VE ALWAYS MOTIVATED PEOPLE’
The media personality and business, DJ Sbu recently joined Radio 2000 after he was fired from Metro FM for promoting his energy drink in 2015.

DJ Sbu real name is Sibusiso Leope tells Sowetan he’s always motivated people to go for their dreams and do what they love.

The broadcaster refutes reports that he’s a “sellout” and adds that he’s never told anyone to deny any opportunity.

He says he didn’t leave his job, actually he was pretty happy with his gig at Metro FM. He just woke up one day and found out that he was fired.

“I couldn’t even say goodbye to my listeners shortly after being suspended the following day after the award show. “

“So, for people to claim that I’m a ‘sellout’ is quite unfair. I was happy with my job on the radio, I just got fired.”

REPLACING GLEN LEWIS ON RADIO 2000

The radio personality Sibusiso Leope replaced Glen Lewis on the SABC station, Radio 2000.

The Citizen reveals that the broadcaster Glen Lewis bid farewell to Radio 2000 on Friday, 29 March morning.

“My time at Radio 2000 has been a valuable chapter,” said the veteran radio host.

Sunday World reports that Glen Lewis, real name Mpotseng Tshinaba resigned from the SABC station to join Kaya 959.

Insiders from Radio 2000 told the publication that Tshinaba didn’t want to renew his contract which is going to be announced in April.

“But he told us in confidence that his next move is to go to Kaya FM and that he had already put pen to paper,” said the employee.

Leope is joined by Nathi Ndamase as co-host of the #NoNameBreakfastShow while Lelo Mzaca is the sports anchor.
