Photos: DJ Maphorisa and Davido hit the studio

Social media users were convinced that another hit song was on the cards when DJ Maphorisa revealed he was working on new music with Nigerian superstar Davido.

Taking to social media, DJ Maphorisa shared photos with Davido, seemingly in a studio.

The photos have gained thousands of comments and reactions since they dropped on Instagram.DJ Maphorisa captioned the post, “We come a long way @davido like 10years ❤️ can’t wait for them to hear our music.” Against the post, fans quickly flooded his comments section with excitement.

Amapiano sensation Young Stunna also gave the song a nod. He seemingly confirmed that he was part of the project. Young Stunna commented, “Thank you for trusting me, Uncle Lam; it means a lot to me, I won’t lie.” However, DJ Maphorisa has yet to reveal the song’s name and when it will be released.

However, DJ Maphorisa pinned Cape Town as their location. Earlier this year, Davido was in Cape Town with his entourage. However, they did not share much about their visit.

However, this is not the first time the two have worked together. The two worked together on the smash hit The Sound. The song has 20 million views on YouTube.

The two have also worked with several amapiano stars in recent years. Davido and Musa Keys collaborated on the smash hit Unavailable, and they have headlined several shows across the globe. The song has also won several awards.

On the other hand, DJ Maphorisa has worked with several star musicians, including Wizkid. He has also produced several smash hits for international stars, including Drake.

However, it seems the two have buried their hatred. In 2022, DJ Maphorisa and Davido had a social media war over the amapiano genre.

DJ Maphorisa took a swipe at the Nigerian star after an X user attributed the genre’s success to Davido. Shooting down the claims, Maphorisa credited Burna Boy and Wizkid instead.

In one of his posts, he said, “Kabza & DJ Maphorisa were the first to put Wizkid and Burna Boy on an amapiano song Sponono that was a historical moment, research before tweeting, also it was the first time Wiz and Burna jumped on the same song together. Let it sink in [sic].”

However, Davido replied, “You’ve never liked me. Why? I’ve always been good to you … Anyway!”
