The local version of the worldâs biggest, craziest, and most fun-filled star-powered singing contest and guessing game is back on our screens in April. The second season of The Masked Singer South Africa kicks off on S3 (formerly known as SABC 3) on Saturday, 6 April, at 18:30.
JâSomething from Micasa, Somizi Mhlongo, Skhumba Hlophe and Sithelo Shozi return to rack their brains to solve the showâs mysterious masked cases.
Baby Cele Resigns From Uzalo
Baby Cele, who has been a part of Uzalo for six years, is bidding farewell to the popular drama series. Cele, first appeared on the show in 2017, playing the role of Gabisile Mdletshe but has now made the decision to step down from her role.
The actress on Uzalo was given a heartfelt farewell, which was captured and can be watched here: Legendary actress Baby Cele, who joined Uzalo in season four has exited the soapie as Gabisile Mdletshe.

SABCâs long running soapie, Uzalo on Friday, 15 March confirmed actress Baby Celeâs departure from the show.

Cele is the second star to leave the show in season ten after Wiseman Mncube, who portrayed her son Sibonelo.

The actress, Baby Cele told IOL this week that it was her decision to leave the Uzalo after six years and emphasised âit was timeâ.
âI joined the show in October 2017 and ever since I have portrayed the character of Gabisile, I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, as an actress you cannot play a character for too long, so I decided it was time to spread my wings,â she said.
The Blood and Water actress also left Uzalo in 2021 and returned after a well-deserved break. Sheâs reportedly set leaving for good this time.
Cee adds that sheâs played Gabisile for so many years, that the character became part of her life. Leaving the role feels like sheâs lost a part of her.
âUzalo was and will forever be my home, I was loved in the production, I had family, and I was respected. We worked well together, I had family, I was respected, and we worked well together,â she said.
