Lesego Marakalla joined the star-studded cast of Skeem Saam in 2012 and bowed out in 2020. She left her family to pursue her studies in Cuba. However, she has been in touch with her family for years.

Confirming her exit on X, formerly Twitter, the drama series posted, “In her role as Rachel Kunutu Maphuthma, Marakalla has been one of the show’s leading young ladies, adding to the series’ sustained success over the seasons.”
