Sindi Dlathu and Linda Mtoba reunite in new telenovela

Linda Mtoba and Sindi Dlathu, the talented actors who played Nomonde and Lindiwe in The River, have been cast in Queendom.The two talented will play mother and daughter in BET_Africa’s Queendom.


 

Queendom tells the story of Nthandokayise Mthombeni portrayed by Mtoba, a maverick community leader in Tsakane. She discovers that she’s the rightful heir to the throne of Khahlamba Kingdom. Her mother, Tholakele Mthombeni, played by Dlathu, has been keeping this secret from her for 30 years.

“Ntando is not just a character; she’s a symbol of the strength all African women possess. In her story, we witness the collision of two worlds, the power of destiny, and the rise of a queen. I can’t wait for viewers to embark on this journey with us.

Dlathu explains that her role perfectly represents the idea of familial relationships, empowerment, and the force of a mother’s love.
“Mzansi is in for a treat, and I am excited to be part of this extraordinary project. It’s an important story to tell.”

According to IOL, Queendom tackles issues such as cultural legacy, tradition, fate, ancestry, power conflicts, identity, and survival.

The show will include South African acting royalty and a notable ensemble. The cast also includes Hamilton Dlamini as King Banzi Khahlamba, Mduduzi Mabaso as Prince Andile Khahlamba, Pallance Dladla as Prince Mcebo Khahlamba, and Dawn Thandeka King as Queen MaNdlovu.

Musician and actor Jabulani Hadebe, often known as Sjava, will play Prince Mkhuseli Khahlamba, King Banzi’s first-born son.
