Earlier this month, The Citizen reported that the police appealed for calm as fans and the family of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes lamented the lack of arrests even after a year since the rapper and his close friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, were murdered.
The duo were gunned down on Florida Road in Durban on 10 February 2023. Their last moments were captured by a CCTV in the area. AKA’s father has recently reflected on how the past few days have been a year since marking the death of his son.
“These last 2 weeks were harder than I thought they would be. No matter what I have relived over and over in the last 12 months, as I write this, I am sitting in my car outside my gate waiting for the white butterfly… I just saw it, it’s my ritual of asking him [AKA] to show me [that] he is with me. But, it is harder than ever now… So many things don’t have meaning anymore,” Tony penned.
