‘Used by liars’: Makhadzi’s Tintswalo speech blasted by ANC critics

South African musician Makhadzi – real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona – is one of the country’s most beloved artists. Her rags to riches story has been an inspiration to many who are proud of how far she has come.

While it seems she can do no wrong, she has seemingly managed to upset some of her fans after throwing her weight behind South Africa’s controversial ruling party – the African National Congress (ANC.)

The star performed at the party’s manifesto last week and even delivered a speech telling her Tintswalo story. Many have slammed her for allowing herself to be a “liar” for the ruling party.

Makhadzi’s glow up from a young hopeful in Limpopo to filling up stadiums will always be one for the books.

Many love how far she has come and have come to look up to her.

This is why when she decided to throw her weight behind the ANC, many of her fans could not believe their eyes.

Videos of the Ghanama songstress delivering a speech at the party’s manifesto on Saturday, 24 February, have gone viral.

Her speech revolved around how the village she came from once had very few resources for school children but has now been fixed by ANC.

She also said that she is a Tintswalo (a child of democracy.)
