The River fans are thrilled to know that their favourite villainous character, Lindiwe will be freed from prison by her husband Bangizwe (Siyabonga Thwala) soon.The TVSA The River January teasers reveal that Lindiwe (Sindi Dlathu) will be freed from on Friday, 19 January.Wednesday, 17 January: “Bangizwe learns Lindiwe’s freedom will cost him something more valuable than he could have imagined.”

Friday, 19 January: “Lindiwe tastes freedom.”

DStv confirms that the 1Magic telenovela The River is coming to an end after six seasons.

Created by Tshedza Pictures’ duo Phathu Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon, the show won 26 Golden Horn statuettes at the South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas) and starred Sindi Dlathu as Lindiwe Dikana, Presley Chweneyagae, Hlomla Dandala etc.
