‘I’VE ALWAYS LOVED COMEDY’: MINNIE DLAMINI TO BE ROASTED ON SHOWMAX
Other South African celebrities who have felt the burns of sitting in the roast hot seat include reality TV star and actress Khanyi Mbau, media personality Somizi Mhlongo, Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr, businessman Kenny Kunene, and slain rapper AKA — real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes.
“I’ve always been a fan of the roasts. One of my favourite scenes from an international roast was when Snoop Dogg was a roastee on Justin Bieber’s panel. I was just intrigued about how they took themselves lightly and had some light-hearted fun,” Minnie Dlamini was quoted as saying.
“I’m from a family of roasters and I’ve always loved comedy. It’s always been my thing. And, I’ve always been a supporter of incredible comedian. So, saying ‘yes’ to something like this was an easy call to make,” she was quoted as saying.
Minnie Dlamini is “ready” and looking forward to her roast, Sunday World reported. She’s said to have acknowledged that the roast will be all about having fun and not taking oneself too seriously.
“The roast is fundamentally a celebration of my career, and there’s nothing I love more than a good laugh,’ Dlamini was quoted as saying.
“I think a lot of people are excited to hear what people are going to say. I have trended for weeks on end where people said the most outlandish things. I’m ready to do it in a way that is curated, fun, and entertaining.” Minnie Dlamini reportedly said.
