‘South African beauties’: Tyla and Boity link up at the Grammys

Award-winning singer Tyla Seethal and media personality Boity Thulo had social media users gushing over them after they were seen rubbing shoulders at the Grammys as seen via an Instagram post shared on Monday, 5 February.

Tyla’s hit song Water made it to the top five in dozens of countries and ended 2023 as the most-streamed Afrobeats song on Spotify, BBC reported. The sensational South African-born singer recently attended the 66th Annual Grammy Awards premiere ceremony at the Peacock Theater in the United States . She was spotted rubbing shoulders with South African media personality Boity Thulo on the red carpet.

After the ceremony, Thulo took to Instagram and shared some pictures with Tyla that were taken at the red carpet. She also decided to entertain her social media followers with a video of herself singing and dancing to Tyla’s award-winning Water song.

“South Africa does it once again😍🔥🇿🇦!! To the most deserving Queen! Congratulations Tyla. This is only the beginning 👑❤️😍😘” Thulo captioned.

By the end of the event, Tyla walked away with a Grammy in the category for Best African Music Performance. Her recent achievement had her making history as the youngest South African to win a Grammy.

“What? Oh my gosh, guys, this is crazy! I never thought I’d say I won a Grammy at 22 years old,” Tyla said on stage during her acceptance speech.

Last year God decided to change my whole life… I know my mum is crying somewhere in here,” she said, pointing into the crowd. “Thank you to The Recording Academy for this category. It’s so important. I know I’m forgetting some things, but I won a Grammy!” Tyla added before walking off stage.
