South Africans are certainly having the time of their lives as the year kicked off to a stellar start. This after the national soccer team, Bafana Bafana, qualified for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final, local musician Tyla Seethal won a Grammy Award and to top it all off, the event was hosted by SA-born comedian Trevor Noah.
Just a few weeks prior, mixed martial arts fighter Dricus du Plessis became the country’s first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion while months before, the Springboks won the Rugby World Cup.
Heading online to celebrate, talented musician and media personality Nandi Madida, bragged about how great SA is as a country.
It’s been a great weekend for South Africans who are riding the wave of Bafana Bafana’s success as well as musician Tyla Seethal’s Grammy Award.
The 22-year-old won the award Best African Music Performance for her hit song Water which went viral across the world in 2023.

All these wins have certainly left locals in a jovial mood as they all head to social media to brag about South Africa’s sports and art success.
One of the people who have celebrated SA is Gangster Love hitmaker Nandi Madida. Taking to X, she pointed out how Trevor Noah hosted the award ceremony while Tyla won an award.
“Trevor Noah hosting the #GRAMMYs ,Tyla winning a Grammy. Ya ne South Africa is the girl she thinks she is,” she wrote.
