Carl Weathers, the actor famous for playing Apollo Creed in the ‘Rocky’ films, has died.
He was 76.
In a statement, his family said: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers.
“He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024.
“Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life.
“Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognised worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner, and friend.”
Carl Weathers, who also starred in the 1987 film “Predator,” was recently seen on the small screen in “Star Wars” spin-off series “The Mandalorian,” a guest role for which he won an Emmy.
