A photo of the legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and TikTok star Khaby Lame posing together was posted on Instagram on 17 January. This comes just weeks after the former Manchester United forward was allegedly named in a $ 1 billion (an estimated R18.5 billion) lawsuit.

Who could have ever imagined Cristiano Ronaldo rubbing shoulders with Khaby Lame? Well, the duo was photographed together at night on a soccer field. They could be seen dressed in sweaters written the word ‘Binance’, the name of a popular cryptocurrency exchange company.

In November 2023, Mirror reported that the current Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo was allegedly named in a $ 1 billion (an estimated R18.5 billion) lawsuit over his alleged involvement with Binance.

According to the publication, in November 2022, the 37-year-old football star released a CR7 range of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in collaboration with the cryptocurrency exchange company. The cheapest token was said to have gone from $77 (an estimated R1 400) in 2022 and worth only $1 (R18) the following year.

The Guardian reported that Ronaldo’s promotion of Binance was said to have been allegedly “deceptive and unlawful”. And, with that, a lawsuit was reportedly filed in a federal court in the Southern District of Florida, the publication reported.
