R200: Kaizer Chiefs legend Siphiwe Tshabalala reveals first salary

Sharing on Instagram, Kaizer Chiefs legend Siphiwe Tshabalala revealed his first salary in 2004.

Siphiwe Tshabalala remains one of the finest midfielders to come from South Africa.


 

 

He played for some of the biggest clubs in the country, like Amazulu and Free State Stars. Tshabalala has nine appearances and is among the most capped Bafana Bafana stars. He also scored many goals for the national team, with his 2010 Fifa World Cup being the most popular.

With such a massive career, many fans could not imagine how much he earned when he started playing professional football.
Sharing on his Instagram, Tshabalala revealed that he earned only R400.

“My first salary was a mere R200 back in 2004; how much was your first salary?”

Looking back, Siphiwe Tshabalala was playing for Alexandra United, but he later moved on that year to Free State Stars.

Since then, Tshabalala went on to have a massive career, and he became one of the most paid players when he joined Kaizer Chiefs. He is an Analyst at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
