The Ngathwala Ngaye hitmaker has not addressed the allegations (presumably for legal reasons). However, she has been responding to messages of love and support from her fans on social media.

Meyiwa was shot dead inside Khumalo’s family home in Vosloorus in October 2014. Khumalo; her sister, Zandile; Zandile’s boyfriend, Longwe Twala; the singer’s mother, Ntombi Khumalo; and two of Meyiwa’s friends, Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala, were all in the house that fateful day.

One fan tagged Khumalo in a tweet that read: “Usazoyiwina lempi MaKhumalo [You will win this battle Miss Khumalo] we love you.”

Responding to the post, the Life With Kelly Khumalo reality star said: “I know

During the murder trial on Wednesday, lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda read from his affidavit, revealing that Khumalo is the alleged mastermind in the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper’s shooting.

Gininda told the court that accused number one and two (Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi) implicated Khumalo in Meyiwa’s killing.

Sibiya, Ntanzi and three others – Mthobisi Ncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Fisokuhle Ntuli – were arrested in 2020 for the crime. Khumalo is accused of ordering the hit and paying the suspects.

The affidavit further revealed that there were four cellphone numbers linked to Khumalo, which she did not disclose. Investigations showed that these numbers linked Khumalo to Ncube, and Ntuli.

“It was further discovered that, through cellphone analysis, her cellphone memory album has the same photo of a see-through bag containing cash notes and in the exact position or location or spot as that of accused number three.”

Furthermore, in 2013, Khumalo allegedly sent a text message telling her sister she wanted to “get rid” of the deceased.

“It is apparently clear that she hated him and wanted to get rid of him. She further states that she regrets not succeeding to get rid of him before. Taking all of this into account, an inference can be drawn she meant killing him.

“Cellphone records show that after the incident took place, she called a number of people, but no call was made to emergency services. She also subsequently went to [a traditional healer] for cleansing as it was done by her other accused in this matter,” Gininda said.
