Former ‘The Real’ host Jeannie Mai Jenkins has asked a judge not to enforce her prenuptial agreement with her estranged husband Jeezy, following their on-going divorce battle.
JEANNIE MAI SAYS PRENUP WAS DISCUSSED FIVE DAYS BEFORE WEDDING
In court documents obtained by media outlet People magazine, Jeannie Mai claims that she wasn’t given enough time to properly review the prenuptial agreement before signing.
The media personality also notes that five days before their wedding in 2021 Jeannie’s estranged husband, Jeezy started negotiations for their prenup.
In the documents Jeannie noted that the “abbreviated negotiation window” has raised “significant concerns about the adequacy and thoroughness of the due diligence process, and each party’s ‘full and fair disclosure’ of their financial positions”.
The documents also notes that the time frame of the prenup negotiations prevents the couple from engaging diligently.
“The compressed timeframe has made it inherently challenging, if not impossible for both Jeannie and Jeezy to engage in comprehensive due diligence”, the court document noted.
The TV host also alleges that Jeezy failed to provide the necessary financial documents and failed to provide a “transparent and detailed view of his assets, liabilities and overall financial standing”.
As a result, Jeannie Mai has “respectfully requested” that the judge deny her Jeezy’s motion to enforce their prenup or at least delay proceedings until her team completed their discovery.
After two years of marriage, Jeezy filed for divorce in September 2023. In court proceeding’s Jeannie Mai alleged that her husband was unfaithful during the entirety of their marriage.
