RIP: ‘Bill Hayes, a mainstay on the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives”

Legendary and multi-talented performer, Bill Hayes who is best known for his long-running role as Doug Williams in Days of Our Lives has passed away.


 

 

 

BILL HAYES DIES
DAYS of Our Lives executive producer, Ken Corday confirmed Bill Hayes’ passing to Soap Opera Digest and said: “I have known Bill for most of my life and he embodied the heart and soul of Days of our Lives.”

“Although we are grieving and will miss him, Bill’s indelible legacy will live on in our hearts and the stories we tell, both on and off the screen.”

Corday also sent deepest condolences to Hayes’s family, friends, and colleagues. The publication adds that Hayes died on Friday, 12 January at the age of 98.

CAUSE OF DEATH: ‘DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ STAR
Daily Mail reports that the cause of death for the Days of Our Lives star Bill Hayes has not been revealed as yet. The late actor, who was born William Foster Hayes III was born in Harvey, Illinois, on 5 June 1925.

The fan-favourite actor portrayed the role of Doug Williams for 50 years, from 1970 and portrayed him continuously throughout his life.
