Grammy award-winning disc jockey, Black Coffee – real name Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo was involved in a severe travel accident on a flight en route to his scheduled gig in Mar Del Plata, a statement shared on his Instagram revealed on Wednesday, 10 January.

Taking to Instagram, the statement announcing the international disc jockey’s accident read: “Black Coffee was involved in a severe travel accident on a flight en route to his scheduled show in Mar Del Plata. The incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injuries.”
According to the statement, the Drive hitmaker is being treated for the injuries. His loved ones were also reported to be comforting him.
“We can confirm that he is receiving the best possible medical attention and is surrounded by a supportive family and team,” the statement added.
From the township streets of Mzansi, to the best world stages, the South African-born international disc jockey has made his mark in the DJing space. Last year he made history as the first South African to headline Madison Square Garden in New York. He also secured slots to play at one Ibiza’s top clubs, every Saturday from 27 May to the 30 September, DJ Mag, reported.
Since the statement of Black Coffee’s accident was released yesterday, his fans have circulated the news on social media, with several of them wishing him “a speedy recovery”.
