Zahara memorial: sisters speak out against her alleged husband

The memorial service of late singer, Zahara was marred by in-fighting as her sisters spoke out to condemn the man who is calling himself the singer’s husband.

Death itself is unkind enough. But to have the memories of a late loved one ruined by fights after their death is especially difficult. That’s what the Mkutukana has had to face after laying their daughter, Zahara, to rest in an emotional memorial service which took place in East London on the 22nd of December 2023. Following the service, two of the late singer’s sisters Bande and Lumka, had to speak to the media to try and clarify what is going on.

ZAHARA’S SISTERS: “HE IS NOT HER HUSBAND!”
On the 23rd of December, Zahara will be laid to rest for the final time as her family and friends wish her goodbye. However, the memorial service which took place the day before turned into a war of words. The singer’s partner, Mpho Xaba, has so far not been recognised by the family but at a previous memorial service, he had spoken to the public as “Zahara’s husband”. Her sisters, Bande and Lumka set the record straight when they spoke to Sino Majangaza on his YouTube channel.

In a snippet that’s gone viral on social media, the sisters claim that Xaba is not Zahara’s husband and had not paid Lobola (although a date had been set). They also hint that they had no proof of her illness, while also adding that he is spreading misinformation to the media.
