He’s in pain: Springboks hooker Bongi Mbonambi trains his injured knee

Springboks vice captain Bongi Mbonambi trained his injured knee as he gets better.

Bongi Mbonambi was one of the critical Springboks stars as they defended the World Cup in France. He played all the games in France and even captained the team before Siya Kolisi was back from injury.

Unfortunately, Bongi Mbonambi injured his knee in the final playing against the All Blacks.

His injury made many headlines, leaving the Springboks fans in tears as they feared for the worst. Fortunately, Bongi Mbonambi had his surgery successfully and has been recovering well.

He showed progress before many fans expected, as he had already started training the knee.

Sharing on Instagram, Bongi was in pain, but he knew it was the only way to recover fully.

The talented hooker showed how strong he was and how much he was ready to embrace the pain he went through.

His injury came from an illegal clearout by All Blacks flanker Shannon Frizell, who was subsequently yellow carded by referee Wayne Barnes.

His Sharks coach John Plumtree spoke of the knee injury, saying that the star hooker would be out for a long time.

“Bongi will be out longer, it could be the whole season,” he said.
