Matthew Perry’s cause of death listed as ‘acute effects of ketamine’

American actor Matthew Perry’s official cause of death has been confirmed by the Los Angeles Coroner’s office on Friday, 15 December.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office noted that the Friends actor died of “acute effects of ketamine”. Matthew Perry’s death was also ruled as accidental.


 

According to Page Six the actor’s autopsy report also lists drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine, an opioid, effects as other conditions that contributed to his untimely death.

The media outlet also reported that Matthew Perry was clean from using drugs for about 19 months. It was also noted that he was on “ketamine infusion therapy” at the time of his death.

The renowned actor who was best known for his role as ‘Chandler’ on hit TV series Friends, died at his home in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, the 28 October.

Matthew Perry was found unresponsive by his assistant and appeared to have drowned in his jacuzzi.

The actor’s funeral took place at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles California and was attended by the actor’s close friends and family.

Matthew’s Friends co-stars; Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc were all in attendance.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” they shared in their joint statement following the news of Matthw Perry’s death in October.

His last Ketamine treatment allegedly took place a week and a half before his death
