It’s been touch and go for months now with lobola that took on a dramatic life of its own, Kwaito‘s hangover and Jacobeth’s warning BUT tonight it happened. Elizabeth Thobakgale and Zamokuhle “Kwaito” Seakamela tied the knot in the Part I of Skeem Saam’s wedding special. Part II to follow this Monday (18 December).
While we wait for that, scooch in, browse their wedding album and choose your favourite photo. Talented Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa, who’s been portraying the role of Kwaito Seakamela-Maputla for over a decade discusses the growth of his much-loved character.
Fans of the educational soapie have witnessed Maosa’s character grow from high school, varsity and getting his first job and finally getting married to Elizabeth Thobakgale (played by Amanda Manku).
Maosa tells Sunday World: “I think we have explored him (Kwaito) so much because it is more of a journey. Now him becoming a husband is something wonderful. What I appreciate as Clement is that all these years, I have had the opportunity to cry, laugh and go through different stages of life with this character.”
The actor adds that he thought his character would be ready maybe at a later stage when he was 35 or 40 as he’s been around as he’s been a womaniser and seemed to enjoy being more of a ladies’ man. The Skeem Saam actor is also grateful to experiment the popular character, Kwaito for over a decade in the educational soapie.
