With just a few days before last Saturday’s trip to Limpopo to face Polokwane City, Amakhosi’s 28-year-old midfielder Maart felt his Golf GTI rides deserved a photo with him.

 

The Atlantis-born midfielder added a motivational caption to the youngsters on his followers list:

“Stay focused and stay determined. Don’t look to anyone else to be your determination have self-determination. It will take you very far,” the former Cape Umoya, Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United player wrote.

Meanwhile, Maart and his teammates are celebrating the latest league victory.

The Glamour Boys bagged a 1-0 win over Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a Pule Mmodi finish in the 51st minute.

Speaking to the media after the game, interim coach Cavin Johson said his second consecutive win in five games does not mean much, yet…

“I think we’re just doing a great job, we need 15 wins, then we can talk,” Johnson told journalists at the press conference at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

“In some moments yes, I think we’re getting there but like if it was the same win with the other game against Swallows, then we can say we’re building on the type of play we have or the type of play we want to have going forward,” he added.

“But when you have to play against a team like this, it’s a whole new perspective. We also have to go back home and say how do we play against a team that plays like this.

“This is because there could be one or two teams that play similarly, play the long ball and on the second ball. So, we need to be able to do that but we also need to make sure that we’re able to keep on stitching the Kaizer Chiefs club,” the Chiefs mentor concluded.

Moving on, Chiefs will return to the training pitch ahead of a visit from Richards Bay FC on Saturday, 23 December, at the FNB Stadium at 15:30.
