Well-known South African media personality, and presenter, Minnie Dlamini was left with an egg on her face after a clip of her throwing shade at Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune went viral.
But has the soccer star’s wife, Sphelele, clapped back at the TV personality with this cryptic post?
Minnie – who once dated Khune – revealed that she had filed for divorce from her husband, Quinton Jones, last year.
In a clip from her latest TV show, Curated By Tanqueray, Minnie Dlamini was captured shading her ex-boyfriend Itumeleng Khune.
She said in a clip about the veteran player: “No man, Khune doesn’t still play.” When a crew member claimed that the famous star played as recently as last weekend in the Soweto Derby, she added with much shock: “He STILL plays.”
Minnie dated Khune from 2011 -2014 and were even rumoured to be engaged.
The TV star later dated Quinton Jones, whom she wed in 2017. Khune would go on to date Sbahle Mpisane and later Sphelele Mkhunga, whom he paid lobola for in 2019. Itu and Sphelele – who have two children together – tied the knot in a traditional ceremony last year.
In recent years, Itu Khune has been plagued by criticism over his age and calls for him to retire.
However, the Kaizer Chiefs player – who joined the club in 2004 – made it clear that he was not ready to end his professional playing career.
In June, Chiefs ended speculation that Khune would retire by offering him a one-year extension on his contract.
The star athlete will continue to play another year in the 2023/2024 season.
It said in a statement: “While Khune will be involved in training and preparations for matches as a player, he will also use this year to broaden his technical acumen as he transitions into a new coaching and ambassadorial role working with the marketing division at the Club.”
According to iDiski Times, this is the team’s final decision.
