Viewers of SABC1’s soapie took to social media to react to Uzalo actors Thuthuka Mthembu and Sandile Mfusi’s real-life romance. Daily Sun reported on Wednesday, 24 August that the actors, who play a couple Nonka and Kwanda in the soapie are in a relationship. Uzalo actors Thuthuka Mthembu and Sandile Mfusi are reportedly head over heels in love with each other just like like their characters Nonka and Kwanda in the SABC1 soapie. The actors reportedly fell in love and began dating when Mfusi joined the soapie this season.
A source from the show told the publication that Mthembu, who plays Nonka, and Mfusi, who plays the villainous Kwanda are very much in love with each other in real life.
“They are in love, but they want to keep it private because they don’t want it to affect their work. They don’t want the public to know,” the source claimed.
Mfusi, who also appears in e.tv’s The Black Door and the former Mzansi Magic eHostela actress are showing off their romance to those close to them.
“After attending a colleague’s funeral over the weekend, Thuthuka posted their photo on WhatsApp and wrote ‘boyfriend and I’” said the source.
The popular actors attended the show’s line producer Mandisa Mngeni, who passed away on Sunday, 14 August 2022.
“It’s easy for them to play being lovers as they are romantically involved. Everyone in the production knows. And, most of their colleagues are happy for them. They are good together and almost the same age,” said another source.
“Thuthuka also loves the fact that he’s a churchgoer. He’s a man of God and is not a player, while he loves the fact that she’s a focused young lady.” Viewers of the show had mixed reactions to their relationship on social media yesterday, 24 August after their characters broke up on the soapie.
Fans of the actress also believe their relationship might not last as celeb relationships tend to end badly.
Their characters Nonka and Kwanda’s relationship ended this week after Nonka found out that Kwanda was using her to run his drug business.
