He is controversial and many love to hate him. Uyajola 9/9 presenter and musician Molemo Katleho “Jub Jub” Maarohanye does not speak often about the fateful night on 8 March 2010 when he and his friend Themba Tshabalala caused a serious accident that killed four kids and left another two survive with brain damage while they were drag racing under the influence.
The Ndikhokhele rapper spent years in prison. In Unfollowed episode 8, season finale, the sunglasses stay on as host Thembekile Mrototo questions the former child star about how he keeps coming back,”even after the incident in which he and a friend four school children in March 2010, spentfour years in prison, and an ongoing rape trial.
Jub Jub is tight-lipped about the deadly 2010 accident, saying, “out of respect for the families that lost their kids…What happens with myself and the families is not for anybody,” he says. “Everything was taken away in the blink of an eye after that accident,” he adds. Noting how his words distance Jub Jub from his actions, Thembekile asks, “Taken away by yourself?” He answers, “Not really, I guess the choices,” says Jub Jub, who wishes he had” taken a stop in my life and actually figured out there’s no need to live a fast life.” The accident lingers as his “ day”. He explains, “A good part of me died as well … When you find yourself alone, you just remember … you try to , you see visions. You try to move on with your life…”
