Springbok player Makazole Mapimpi received a hero’s welcome after visiting an unknown Spar as seen in an Instagram video posted on Friday, 20 October – rugby fans were glad to see the winger appreciated by numerous South Africans after helping his team in the 2023 Rugby World Cup in Paris, France.

South Africans came in numbers at Spar to give Springboks Makazole Mapimpi an amazing hero’s welcome. The video was posted after the winger was announced that he would not be participating in the upcoming semi-final game due to an injury he received while playing against Tonga. He was replaced by his teammate Lukhanyo AM.
The rugby star fractured his cheekbone just before his team’s victory against their opponents, BBC Sport reported. It was a bittersweet end as Mapimpi had to undergo surgery and miss out on the next Rugby World Cup games.
Mampimi has an incredible story. He grew up in Tsholomnqa village in Mdantsane, East London in the Eastern Cape. The rugby incredible player was raised by his grandmother – this comes most of his family including his mother, brother, and sister passed away. South Africans proved to stand with Mampimpi as they honoured him with praise as seen in the Instagram video below…
