Rassie Erasmus exposes threats sent to Springbok Cobus Reinach

The last few weeks have been blissful for South African rugby fans as they watch the Springboks dominate the Rugby World Cup which is currently underway in France. Things have taken a bit of a nasty turn as the hateful comments directed at Springboks players by disgruntled fans of other teams have turned into death threats.

The match between France and South Africa undoubtedly left many French fans grumbling.

It would appear that some are a little more than just disappointed after one person sent a worrisome Instagram Direct Message to crumhalf Cobus Reinach.

In the messages which was shared and translated from French to English by Rassie Erasmus, the disgruntled fan appears to threaten the life of Reinach’s son.

“This is obviously not true. Unfortunately these threats was made to Cobus Reinach!! Its not nice and upsets a mom and dad to see things like that said about their boy! But we are not gonna whine, we will just move on!!! Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie,” Erasmus captioned the post.MZANSI WEIGHS IN
The post left many concerned as they discussed some of the incredulous things that have been happening on social media since France’s defeat.

“I feel sorry for French people in general that some of their fellow countrymen make the whole country look bad. I understand the disappointment with the loss, but the players don’t blow the whistle. No point cursing and sending death threats to opposing players,” one person wrote.

Another added:

“This is not okay! World Rugby must do something about this. They must get the French Police to investigate!
