The actress Phophi Mudau Ratlabala, who plays Cindy, is a sangoma in real life.
Before Ratlabala eventually explained why we hadn’t seen her portray Cindy on Skeem Saam, she had been absent from the tiny screen for nearly a year. She claimed that she had taken a break from television because she had been on a spiritual quest while practicing as a conventional healer.
Phophi Mudau Ratlabala declared earlier this year that she had completed her training as a healer and that she was eager to share her experiences.
The actress was quoted by Daily Sun as saying;
“The journey has been both difficult and beautiful. In comparison to the lesson in humility, learning to give of yourself, your time, and your resources was insignificant. You entirely let go of yourself when you accept your calling to be a healer, allowing the spirits to work both through and in you.

As Emkay Biyela on Skeem Saam, Mlungisi Bafana Mathe has spoken up about his religion and spiritual experience as a sangoma.
Before eventually becoming a pastor, Emkay had previously served as a preacher and a youth leader in the church. Mlungisi accepted a summons that he received from his forefathers along the journey.

Oratile Maitisa joined Skeem Saam in 2010, where she portrays the sweet and innocent young girl Eunice Nkadimeng.
She was a devout Christian who served as a young evangelist and was robed into two guilds at her church. Oratile revealed that she was a Sangoma in June 2021. She posted videos and images of what appeared to be her graduation day on Instagram.
Shoki Mmola

Shoki Mmola, a seasoned actress who plays Celia on Skeem Saam, said she is happy to be a practicing sangoma despite the demands of her demanding role.
She earned her certification as a registered traditional healer in 2019 and is now able to give sick notes to clients. She denied being a famous person, Sangoma saying:
Because I ignored my calling due to it becoming a fashion fad, I am not a famous sangoma.
