RIP KARABO MOKOENA: THREE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT SANDILE MANTSOE
The spokesperson for the Justice and Correctional Services Department, Chrispin Phiri confirmed that Sandile Mantsoe is still locked behind bars at the Standerton Correctional Centre in Mpumalanga via a post on X (Twitter) on Monday, 2 October.
“He is at Standerton Correctional Centre with other further charged offenders to make a total of 08 in the cell. He is at the Centre and he never went out today. His next court appearance date is 2023/10/18 in Evander Court,” Phiri said.He was charged with premeditated murder and defeating justice. He was sentenced to 32 years in prison in May 2018 after fatally stabbing his now late girlfriend, Karabo Mokoena when she was just 22. According to Briefly, Judge Peet Johnson described Sandile Mantsoe as a “devil in disguise” during his last hearing at the Gauteng High Court.

Manstoe grew up in eMbalenhle, a township in Mpumalanga, Youth Village reported. He is said to have attended school in Secunda, in the area before he matriculated at Highveld Park High School in 2007.

Karabo Mokoena’s charred remains were found in a shallow grave in a deserted field in Johannesburg. A chilling CCTV footage was widely spread on social media showing Montsoe dragging the lifeless body of his girlfriend inside a large rubbish bin from his luxurious apartment in Sandton on Friday, 28 April just shortly after 22:00.
